Engine Specifications

The new HR-V is powered by an efficient 1.8L inline 4-cylinder engine. The engine develops up to 141-hp at 6500 rpm as well as 127 lb.-ft. of torque at 4300 rpm. It has a 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC valvetrain, and the engine uses multi-point fuel injection. Drive-by-wire throttle system is standard. The aluminum-alloy engine block and cylinder head allow the HR-V’s engine to be lightweight, boosting its efficiency for you to enjoy a sportier drive as well as a better return on fuel usage.

Transmission

There are two transmissions available on the 2017 Honda HR-V. Depending on your driving preferences, you’ll want to choose the option that will offer you the ease or control that you’re looking for.

• Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control: Always maintain control of the HR-V with this technology that monitors for oversteer, understeer, or wheelslip and provides braking on the wheels it may be needed at so that you have maximum traction at all times.
• Suspension: In the front of the vehicle, you’ll have MacPherson Strut front suspension. In the rear, the HR-V uses Torsion-Beam rear suspension system. Together, these suspensions systems work together to ensure you’ll have a smooth ride wherever you’re headed.
